Krasnodar, 21 July. A single passenger traffic management operator will reportedly appear in Sochi.
At a working meeting held by the City Hall, it was announced that the new company will be responsible for the entire system of municipal transportations in the resort city.
“Last spring, the integrated public transport services scheme was approved in the city. It had been developed in the framework of the national project ‘Safe and high-quality roads’ for the period until 2030. The gradual upgrading of the bus depot will begin this year. In 2023, a single traffic operator will be opened, which will help improve the quality of the services as regards traffic control, planning of the route network, and introduction of information services for passengers,” Viacheslav Bauer, Director of the Department for Transport and Road Facilities, commented.
At present, the public bus network in Sochi consists of 122 municipal routes. Every day, over 800 buses work in the city.
According to the newly developed upgrading program, more than 650 buses will be replaced in Sochi.
