Krasnodar, 14 July. The Astoria Grande cruise liner will reportedly connect the Kuban region and Türkiye. 

The ship will be departing from Sochi Seaport which will resume regular international routes. On July 16, the Astoria Grande will take aboard first passengers and leave for Istanbul, the Sochi City Hall’s press office announced. The liner will also call at Çeşme, Sinop and Trabzon, and then it will enter the Aegean Sea. 

“Sochi is planning to receive about 4.5 million tourists from May until September. Now, at the height of the season, many tourists in Sochi may diversify their recreation with a sea cruise. For our city, it means new jobs and additional budget revenues,” Deputy Mayor Inna Petukhova said. 

The tours will be organized by the Turkish company Miray Cruises. 

“In July – October, the Astoria Grande will ply 15 voyages, 14-days each. The liner’s capacity is 1,382 passengers. The organizers are planning to have more than 20,000 Russian tourists,” Yuri Vladimirov, General Director of the Sochi Seaport, commented. By June 2021, the Astoria Grande used to sail in the Baltic Sea under the colours of Germany and under the name of AIDAcara.
