Krasnodar, 1 July. Ninety beaches of the Black and Azov seacoasts in Krasnodar krai have reportedly passed classification. Category one (a blue flag) was ascribed to 59 beaches; category two (a green flag) – to 15 beaches, and category three (a yellow flag) – to 16 beaches. “This year, we refused from the international blue flag systems. In the Krasnodar region, we performed voluntary classification according to the Russian Tourism Agency standards. They provide for three categories of beaches: yellow, green and blue,” Vice Governor Aleksandr Ruppel explained. He said that both the classification and the Recreation and Services Standards will have to guarantee the compliance between tourists’ demands and results obtained. It is a continuous work to be carried out during the whole year.
“Our position is precise: a beach is for recreation and not for trade. The recreational area should be used only for its intended purpose,” Acting Minister of Resorts, Tourism and Olympic Heritage Mikhail Zaritsky said.
