Krasnodar, 27 April. In the Kuban region, the new tourist season will start on May 1, which is a month earlier than usual. It will begin under unprecedented transport restrictions – with only one, Sochi Airport, working. The rest will be closed (tentatively) until May 1. The holidaymakers may reach their final destinations by train, by bus or by car.
Like last year, about 600,000 holidaymakers are to come to the Kuban region during the May holidays. According to the regional press service, more than 50% of the hotel rooms for early May had been reserved by the end of last week. So far, the seawater is not as warm as it should be to let the holidaymakers bathe, which is why the tourists will be attracted with various entertaining programs and tours. According to the regional Ministry of Resorts, over 600 tourist destinations are prepared to receive tourists starting from the very beginning of the season. Altogether, over 10,700 hotels and hospitality facilities will be at the tourists’ disposal during the upcoming summer season.
The Comet speedboat will be plying between Novorossiysk to Sochi via Gelendzhik throughout the season, starting from May 1.
