Krasnodar, 16 March. The construction of the 15-kmlong detour road around Timashevsk will reportedly be completed in 2025.

The works began in October 2020. The new detour will redirect the flow of holidaymakers heading for the Black Sea away from the city, unload the railway crossings and resolve the longstanding problem of traffic jams. Apart from the road, the works include the construction of four crossovers for agricultural vehicles and two railway flyovers, a bridge over the Kirpili River, four road junctions, and two ground level pedestrian crossings. All these works require relocation of the engineering networks and approval of the utilities services.

According to the press service of the regional administration, at present the new road is 10% ready.

The workers have removed the pipelines, erected the supports and the superstructures of the bridge over the Kirpili, filled the subgrade, sandy gravel and asphalt mix at various sectors of the road. The construction works are financed from the regional Road Fund. When the works are finished, the Timashevsk detour will be connected with the Krasnodar – Yeisk motor road. To join the two roads, a new 8.8-km-long road will have to be built.
