Today thousands of Russian mothers with sons of conscription age are in a panic. According to the legislation, conscripts cannot be sent to hot spots. Are you sure this law is being followed?
- There is no doubt about this. According to the Minister of Defense, today we have twice as many conscripts as conscripts. And not all of them are currently involved in special operations in Ukraine. Moreover, you have to understand that wars are now won mostly at the expense of technology and strategies.
- Food prices are rising. Including those that are produced domestically. What is it connected with? Can local producers fill the grocery niche in case there is a shortage?
- The increase of prices for the local produce is connected with the citizens’ ungrounded panic and with the abuse of some producers. The actions of citizens are illogical, but nothing can be done about it. You just have to get over it and eat all the buckwheat you bought up for stock. But we will fight the actions of businesses, which use people’s anxiety as a pretext to make money on it. I have already written a number of appeals to the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Economics and the Federal Antimonopoly Service to check the facts of groundless overpricing of primary agricultural products, which may lead to higher prices of many food products.
- You are constantly dealing with problems of social security, including the availability of rare medicines. Are there fears that there will be disruptions in the delivery of medicines, rehabilitation equipment, etc. because of the current situation?
- Now I think something may disappear from the shelves, again due to the slight panic of the population. However, as stated by the Minister of Health, Russia is provided with drugs for the near future. There is a lot of chance that the sanctions will be lifted as soon as the operation is over. But I would like us at the state level to make global conclusions and engage in the revival of our pharmaceutical companies. During the spread of the coronavirus infection, we proved to the world and to ourselves that we can create effective drugs in a short period of time. The same goes for rehabilitation technologies. We have excellent companies and specialists. We must give them a chance to prove themselves. Our grandmothers and grandfathers managed to fully restore the country after the Great Patriotic War within five years. Will we not be able to produce baby carriages or diapers? I believe that today’s situation, for all its minuses, is a global chance to regain its greatness. It is great that the world’s major economies, Brazil, India, and China, are now on our side.
