It is planned that the new residential neighbourhood to be built shortly in the area of more than 3,000 hectares will accommodate nearly 330,000 people.
“The concept has in fact been completed, and we are proceeding to discussing it with the professional community and the public. We will gather together all proposals in the nearest two or three weeks. In case they would be constructive, the concept would be corrected. If there would be no remarks, the concept would be considered completed,” Ilya Pozdniakov said.
The concept includes the layout of social facilities, the utilities, green zones, entertainment sites, enterprises, and transport facilities.
Pavel Spirin, Director of the St. Petersburg Institute of Urban Construction, was quoted as saying in this respect that the designing process for the new neighbourhood will be performed using new approaches to design, materials and points of attraction. “We are working on the design concepts control logic in order to set up the design code and shape a certain logic of architecture and landscaping requirements,” he said.
