Krasnodar, 16 February. The Krasnodar region is planning a large-scale replacement of its bus fleet with electric buses. Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev has reportedly discussed a possibility of importing electric buses with Petr Parkhomchik, Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus.
“Since January, the first electric bus is being tested in Sochi. It is an environmentally friendly, comfortable, noiseless and safe transport, which is important for a southern region. We plan to fully shift to electric public transport within five years. And for us it is important to understand with whom we will be doing it. You may become a potential supplier of electric vehicles that will help us reach our goals,” Veniamin Kondratiev said.
Besides, the Kuban Governor discussed with the Minister a possibility to increase the supplies of agricultural mechanisms.
“To remain a guarantor of [national] food security, we should timely refresh our car fleet. Our farmers should have a choice to do it. We are interested in expanding our cooperation, and increasing supplies of reliable and high-quality agricultural machines and mechanisms,” Mr. Kondratiev said.
