Krasnodar, 16 November. The new tramline at Moskovskaya Street in Krasnodar is ready by 70%.
At present, the construction of two underground crossings beneath the tram line has begun; the building of the control station is being erected. The City Hall announced that nearly three of the five scheduled kilometres of the track panel have already been laid.
“The main thing is to launch the trams along the new track. Then the finishing works in the underground crossings can be completed. Of course, it is important to keep to the schedule, but with no detriment to the quality. While the construction is going on, it is worth thinking of landscaping. There is an about metre-wide vacant stripe both ways of the tracks. It would be better if shrubs be planted there rather than usual rails. In addition to safety, it would give additional verdure to the neighbourhood,” Acting Mayor Andrei Alekseyenko stated.
Experts expect that the annual passenger traffic of the new tramline will approximate three million.
