Krasnodar, 5 October. Teachers, doctors and aid workers will reportedly get one million roubles as the first mortgage instalment payment. The support will be available to specialists who have lived in the Kuban region for at least ten years. The bill enacting this programme was adopted in two hearings by the regional Legislative Assembly deputies at the last session.
Andrei Liashko, Minister of Fuel and Energy Complex, and Housing and Utilities Services, was quoted as saying that this decision was caused by a steep rise in the prices for residential realty in the city of Krasnodar and throughout the region – by 30% and more per square metre – which is why now doctors, teachers and welfare workers cannot afford to buy a flat even with the help of a mortgage loan. In practice, it is the lack of money for the first instalment payment that is the main obstacle to get the loan.
The amount of the support is fixed and it will not depend on the price of a square metre in a concrete municipality. The total amount of assignments will be 879 million roubles. Thereby, if the programme would be working for the following five years, it would allow five thousand persons to resolve their housing problem.
