Krasnodar, 7 September. Six rivers in Kuban to be cleared in the near future. This step is necessary to prevent flooding during heavy rains. According to the regional administration press service, the necessary project documentation is being produced at the moment.
- Specialists have analyzed which areas are each year under the threat of flooding - as said governor Venyamin Kondratyev. - Now we are mobilizing work to clear them. In the near future we will start clearing 2.5 km of the river Maloe Pseushkho in the village of the same name, in the Tuapse region. Projectual documentation for this work has already been prepared. According to the plan, flooded and fallen trees shall be removed from the river floodplain and theriverbed levelled. More than 22 thousand cubic meters of bottom soil are to beexcavated. This soil will be partially used to strengthen the banks. As a result, by the end of 2021 the river throughput will be increased, protecting the village from possible waterlogging.
To date, in the Kuban, 4.6 km of the river Chamlyk in the Labinsky district as well as the rivers Psezuapse and Ashe in Sochi are also being cleared.
