Krasnodar, 3 September. 16+ The admission campaign in the leading Kuban universities this year has been distinguished by a particularly wide geography. This is due to the changes in the regulations and the permission to accept documents and conduct entrance exams, including additional remote ones. For remote exams it was also possible to consider appeals.
Such measures were dictated by the current epidemiological situation. Now the universities note the technical improvement of the online interaction with applicants. It is likely that this mode of operation, already appropriated, will remain in the capacity of Kuban universities in the future too.
One of the leading higher education institutions of the region - Kuban State University - has received over 80 thousand applications from 16 thousand people.
The most popular subjects were, as of tradition, economic: economic safety, management (from 60 to 180 applicants for one place), as well as law: legal support of national security (35 to 45 applications per place).
In third place is the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology. Most applicants wanted to pursue an education aimed at teaching, with a major in English and French or English and Greek (35-38 applications per place). Slightly fewer applicants preferred a more practical side - translation and translation studies.
Graduates of schools and colleges from all over Russia became new students of the Krasnodar State Institute of Culture. Not only freshmen from Moscow, Volgograd, Arkhangelsk, Novgorod, Tver regions, the Republic of Crimea, Buryatia and many other federal subjects applied(a total of applications for admission came from 45 Russian constituent regions), but students from other countries will also gain knowledge at the KGIK. Applications came from China, Egypt, Iraq, Colombia and Angola. The total competition for the entry has been of six people per place. According to the results of 2021 admission campaign, the Krasnodar State Institute of Culture has become one of the most popular educational institutions among creative young people.
Again, as was the case last year, the biggest competition for the Design specialty. 262 applicants signed up. There was also great demand for the course in “Management of socio-cultural activities (229 applications for full-time and 224 for part-time studies).
At the Kuban State Polytechnic University the top spot is held by the Institute of Computer Systems and Information Security, as well as by the Institute of Construction and Transport Infrastructure. Programs related to information technology and construction are what interests young people with a mathematical intelligence the most - We are surrounded by data, that’s why the information technology sphere guarantees jobs for specialists who are able to work with them: from the data journalist to the data architect,” says Mikhail Baryshev, Acting Rector of the university. - IT specialists, as a rule, top the ratings of the most demanded professions. These are programmers, game developers, mobile applications developers. The highest salaries are received by IT specialists and the least competition is observed among programmers and developers. The demand for qualified specialists in the design and construction of residential real estate, commercial buildings, social, cultural and industrial facilities is not going to decrease. The preferences of freshmen have gone in new directions compared to last year, the interest for specialties and training areas of the Institute of Mechatronics, Robotics, Transportation Engineering and Technical Systems has significantly increased.
