Krasnodar, 19 August. The Winter Theatre in Sochi needs speedy restoration and overall re-equipment.
Last week, the problems of a major concert hall in the resort city were discussed at a meeting chaired by City Mayor Aleksei Kopaigorodsky.
The Winter Theatre was built in 1937. It regularly hosts events of local, federal and international significance.
The press service of the City Hall announced that main concern is caused by the cracks in the foundation and the walls that appeared due to landslides. The roof also needs replacing, and the interior repairing.
Another item on the agenda is the technical re-equipment of the theatre. The rate of wear and tear of the stalls and the chairs exceeds 70%. The stage also needs new smart visual and audio systems. Even the curtains need refurbishing.
