Krasnodar, 13 August. Athletes from Krasnodar krai have won seven medals of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Alisa Tishchenko, a gymnast from Krasnodar, was awarded a silver medal in the group all-around. In the finals, the Russian female athletes yielded to the Bulgarian team with the score of 90.400. Muslim Gadzhimagomedov was another silver medalist from the Kuban region. In the finals, he fought with Julio La Cruz of Cuba, the reigning Olympic champion.
Yelena Vesnina, a tennis player from Sochi, also came home with a silver medal. In the finals, she together with her partner Aslan Karatsev played against Anastasia Pavliuchenkova and Andrei Rublev.
The female rower Yelena Oriabinskaya also returned home with a silver medal. Together with Vasilisa Stepanova, she competed in female coxswainless pairs. The handball players Anna Sen and Viktoria Kalinina helped the national team advance to the finals and wine silver medals.
Sergei Semenov, a Greco-Roman style wrestler from our region, was awarded a bronze medal. In the bronze medal fight at 130 kg, he beat Yasmani Fernández from Chile.
