Krasnodar, 10 August. The number of complaints about treatment of household waste is reportedly growing in the Krasnodar region. Speaking at a conference summoned to discuss the work of the regional operators, Governor Veniamin Kondratiev reported that since the beginning of the year, he had received over 1,100 complaints of the kind. Most frequently, the complaints were coming from Krasnodar, Anapa, Abinsk and Timashevsk.
For instance, dwellers of Oktiabrskaya, Krylovsky rayon complained that the waste had not been removed for weeks during hot summer, so the containers stood completely filled up. The governor reminded that last year protocols of intention were signed regarding investment projects on waste disposal activity. According to them, the regional operators had to start the construction of waste treatment facilities and the reconstruction of the dumps – however, the intentions had died on the vine.
“It is necessary to start these projects as soon as possible. Without new facilities we will not be able to resolve the problem of treatment of solid household waste,” Mr. Kondratiev said.
