Krasnodar, 7 July. New construction constraints will reportedly be introduced in Sochi.

By the end of July, city deputies will make alterations in the local code of land use and development.

According to the official website of the Mayor’s Office, the priority will be given to the areas that are located in densely populated neighbourhoods but used for another purpose than they were intended or are abandoned. The industrial facilities located within the city boundaries are to be moved to the outskirts, and the newly emerged free land plots will be used for integrated development of the area.

Any nonresidential facilities with an area of more than 1,000 sq m may be built only under an agreement on integrated development of the area with simultaneous landscaping of the adjacent zones and development of respective infrastructure. The area of such land plot may not be smaller than a hectare. The new construction rules will also apply individual residential construction activities. The maximum area of a private residential house will be 300 sq m per family, and its maximum height will be limited to 12 m.
