Volunteers Help Set a Record

Krasnodar, 25 June. A group of volunteers of the public area landscaping project has reportedly been awarded in Sochi. 

For a month, 230 volunteers – students and public activists – were helping Sochi residents to take part in the online voting about the reconstruction of public spaces which was going on a federal Internet portal. Last week, the most active volunteers were awarded at a cermony held in the Mayor’s Office. 

Commenting on the activity, Marina Nazarova, Deputy Head of the Department for Youth Policy of the Sochi Mayor’s Office, said that “with the help of volunteers, a record number of [Sochi] inhabitants took part in the voting.” According to the results of the voting, landscaping works will be performed at the embankment along Konstitutsii SSSR street from the Kuban Circuit to the Vertodrom Market in the Central District; a sector of Volodia Ulyanov street in Krasnaya Volia Village, Adler District; the area along the Matsesta River from Matsesta Railway Station to Staraya Matsesta Spa in Khosta District; and the pedestrian zone along the Eastern Dagomys River in Lazarevsky District.
