Seaside Looks Forward to New Season

Krasnodar, 21 April. A new tourist season is approaching – the first beaches in Sochi will open on May 1.

 The preparatory work at the beaches is nearing completion. By May 1, the central seafronts and the main beaches will be landscaped and opened for visitors, the Sochi Mayor’s Office announced. 

There will be about 200 beaches opened in Sochi this season: 85 in Lazarevsky, 30 in the Central District, 41 in Khosta, 28 in Adler, and 16 in the Federal Territory Sirius. 

Last year, the duration of lease agreements were increased from one to five years to let the lessees invest additional money in landscaping and safety arrangements at the beaches. The tender for placement of temporary sale outlets and landscaping works at 32 beaches will take place in May. 

Earlier, the Mayor’s Office developed a new catalogue of beach facilities. It put forward single stylistic requirements, mostly light colours.
