Krasnodar, 16 March. A project of the new Cancer Centre has reportedly been developed in Krasnodar.

The Centre will contain an inpatient department for 1,000 beds, oncosurgery, radiology, chemotherapy and onco-hematology units, an outpatient department capable of receiving 1,500 patients a day, and a diagnostic department.

“The construction of a hi-tech cancer centre is a priority task for our region. The existing hospitals cannot cope with the load any more, which is why we should proceed from planning to construction as soon as possible. The new facility will be convenient for the medical staff and comfortable for the patients,” Governor Veniamin Kondratiev said.

Yelena Murashova, First Deputy General Manager of the Giprozdrav Design Company, was quoted as saying that their company was involved in the planning and design works of nine medical institutions in Russia, over a half of which are currently being erected with federal financial support. The Cancer Centre will become the first facility built in the medical cluster to appear near Novoznamensky Neighbourhood in Krasnodar. In addition to it, the cluster will contain a general hospital and an emergency medical setting, regional and children’s infectious diseases hospitals, and a perinatal centre.
