Krasnodar, 9 March. Five schools are presently being built in the framework of the national project “Education” in the Kuban region: in Krasnodar, Sochi and Korenovsk.
The regional administration’s press service explained that four of them are to be commissioned by the end of this year. Two schools are located in Sochi – namely, a new building for junior classes of the Secondary School No. 11, and a school in Krasnaya Poliana – both for 400 students. A new 250-seat school will appear in Starokorsunskaya, and a 550-seat school will be built in Korenovsk. The construction of the fi fth school, also in Sochi (Mamaika Neighbourhood) will be completed in 2022.
“Krasnodar krai is the third most populated Russian region. Due to the migration, every year dozens of thousands of school-age children come to the region. Thankful to various regional and federal programs, 50 schools have been opened over the past fi ve years. Now we are building 33 schools, fi ve of which in the context of the project ‘Education’,” Governor Veniamin Kondratiev said.
Apart from creating new seats for students, the national project is aimed at the introduction of uniform educational standards at urban and rural schools, and improvement of the level of further education. In 2021, 134 educational cetnres of digital, scientifi c and humanitarian profi les will be opened in the region.
