Krasnodar, 10 February. Water supply improvement projects are reportedly being implemented in Sochi and Gelendzhik.
Last week it was announced that three new wells had been drilled in the floodplains of the city’s rivers. They were the first ones out of the 22 wells to be drilled as potential sources of water supply for the city. The regional administration promised that they may be included into the city’s water supply network.
Now, specialists will be laying a 3-km-long pipeline to unite two potable water reservoirs located downtown. It will enable to dispense the water upcoming from the Troitsky Group Water Supply System to all residential neighbourhoods of the resort city. The works are to be completed by May 1.
In Sochi, geologists have surveyed the water deposits available in the city and developed proposals how to improve the use of the existing sources. To upgrade the water supply, they proposed to found the Central, Adler, Lazarevsky, and Krasnopoliansky Technological Zones.
Over the following two years, the working conditions will be improved, the freshwater reserves re-estimated, and the wells of the Sochi and Lower Mzymta Deposits renewed.
