Krasnodar, 6 February. Krasnodar krai has once again experienced heavy snowfalls over the weekend.
The snowfalls were scattered over the western, northern, eastern, south-eastern, southern and central areas of the region, the city of Krasnodar included. Over 200 special vehicles were clearing the roads of snow; the mechanisms were working nonstop on the main highways. Nine self-propelled graders, 178 combined road machines, and 25 tractors were used to do away with the slipperiness.
Over the weekend, they dispersed more than 4,700 tons of deicing agents.
The regional administration’s press service announced that no traffic restrictions had been introduced, and bus services had not been interrupted.
However, there were also some positive effects of the snowfalls. Say, the rice-growing farms cancelled the highalert mode introduced due to the drought last June, when the Krasnodar Water Reservoir, the main source of water for the rice fields, had grown shallow.
Since then, the Water Reservoir had been used in a limited way – the restrictions had covered the city of Krasnodar, and Abinsk, Kalininsky, Krasnoarmeisky, Krymsk, Seversky, Slaviansk and Temriuk rayons.
