Krasnodar, 6 January. On New Year’s night, 112 babies were born in Krasnodar krai: 60 girls and 52 boys.
The regional Ministry of Health Care announced that 46 babies were delivered in Krasnodar (24 girls and 22 boys, including two pairs of twins).
On January 1 in the morning, Sochi Mayor Aleksei Kopaigorodsky arrived at the local perinatal centre to greet the newborns and their mothers. On New Year’s night, three boys were born in the city. The mayor had a talk with the young mothers and presented gifts to them and their babies.
Yevgeni Filippov, the regional Minister of Health Care, also visited the perinatal centre in Sochi where he was invited to assist in a child’a delivery.
Mr. Filippov was visiting Sochi to control the work of the city’s medical establishments during high winter season. The delivery he assisted was a Cesarean birth prescribed to the obstetric patient by medical indications. The mother gave birth to a boy weighing 3.55 kg and measuring 55 cm. It was the fourth son in her family.
The regional Ministry of Health Care stated that Krasnodar krai remains the nation’s third largest region by birth rate after Moscow City and Moscow oblast. In 2020, 60,210 babies were born in the region – 29,135 girls and 31,075 boys, including 767 pairs of twins and five triplets. Over 40% of all births were registered in Krasnodar, Sochi and Novorossiysk.
