Krasnodar, 11 December. The repair works of the railway crossings have reportedly completed successfully in Timashevsk. It was local residents who had asked to renew the asphalt covering. They had more than once addressed the authorities and public activists to help start repair works at the facilities blamed for many-kilometreslong traffic jams.
The Russian Railways Company, with assistance of local activists of the Popular Front, had analysed the crossings, concluded that they needed repair, and proceeded to the reconstruction.
The railway crossings in Timashevsk are on the way of most of the transit traffic of heavy-duty vehicles heading from Central Russia to Crimea and returning back, as well as to the Black and Azov seaports. Another measure to be taken to improve the road situation should be a new northern detour of the city of Timashevsk with several road interchanges and bridges. The new detour is meant to relieve the city from transit vehicles, thereby making the traffic there much freer.
