Krasnodar, 8 December. Daily coronavirus sickness rates continue to be at a high level in Krasnodar krai, the regional Ministry of Public Health stated.
According to the Ministry, on Monday, December 7, 179 new cases of the disease were recorded in the region; eight lethal cases were recorded. Tatiana Grechanaya, Deputy Head of the regional branch of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights), announced at a press briefing that the newly infected patients will be receiving confirmations of their diagnosis by SMS. Earlier, the positive result would go to the outpatient hospital – now Rospotrebnadzor will receive the information about all confirmed cases before it will go to hospitals, and then this information will be sent to the patient by SMS.
Ms. Grechanaya also announced that the third stage of analysis of population immunity began on December 7. This work has been performed in the region since last summer: about 3,000 local residents that had not been infected with coronavirus were chosen for the study.
“The results of the first two stages tell us that 5 to 7% of the local population have already acquired the immunity to coronavirus. This figure is lower than in other regions,” she noted.
