Krasnodar, 3 November. Employers will be urged to sign labour contracts for casual works. The legislative offer submitted by Kuban MPs to Russian Minister of Labour and Social Protection Anton Kotiakov states that the analysis of illegal labour activities shows that one of the reasons for it is employment of unskilled labour for shortterm work terms – up to three days. At the same time, according to the regional Ministry of Labour and Social Development, a big number of unemployed persons have been registered by local employment agencies. Many of them lack vocational education, have been unemployed for a long while, and are looking for employment for the first time in their life. Because of that, Kuban deputies suggested that such persons may be hired to perform casual work.
“Casual works are currently not taken into account for future pensions; such employees can easily be cheated when their wages are being calculated, so that they might not get their due. But we know that people may often agree to take such risks because they cannot find any other job,” Legislative Assembly Chairman Yuri Burlachko said.
