Krasnodar, 16 September. Last weekend was marked by the climax of the regional election campaign. The voters of Krasnodar krai elected the governor, municipal deputies and heads of rural settlements.
Altogether, 79 election campaigns of various levels were held and 2,825 constant and temporary polling stations worked in Krasnodar krai.
Russian human rights activist and public figure Aleksandr Brod was quoted as saying that the electoral campaign in the region had been organised on a good level.
“Its spirit corresponded to the character of Kuban – a dynamically developing region where different political forces are represented and public activity is high. In my opinion, the two days of early voting passed without any global violations.
On the whole, the observers were active; they double checked the information and forestalled possible violations. I think that all conditions for the declaration of popular will were created in the region,” he noted.
The attendance reportedly exceeded 68% (compared to 46.04% five years ago). The early voting for municipal deputies began on September 4 to help prevent concourse.
