Krasnodar, 13 August. The construction of a new terminal at Gelendzhik Airport has reportedly been completed to schedule. The new air terminal is being built within the framework of the protocol of intentions signed by Governor Veniamin Kondratiev and VTB Bank Chairman Andrei Kostin in February 2019.
According to the press service of the regional administration, the constructions have completed the first stage of assembling works on the support pillars of the building. Over 50 tons of metalwork have been mounted. The support pillars are made of seismic resistant pipes with the diameter of 1,220 mm and wall width of 40 mm. Altogether, there will be 1,500 tons of metalwork assembled on the site.
“When put into operation, the new air terminal will be able to serve nearly 900 passengers an hour. It will significantly increase the level of comfort – more check-in desks and departure gates will appear; convenient and clear logistics and comfortable waiting zones will appear inside the terminal and in the landside,” Gelendzhik Airport CEO Ivan Taranchenko noted.
