Krasnodar, 28 July. The regional authorities plan to upgrade the engineering networks well in advance to exclude any incidents during the heating season. The preparedness of the regional housing and utilities sector was discussed at a conference chaired by the federal Vice Prime Minister Marat Khesnullin that was held last week in Krasnodar.
It was revealed that 5.4 billion roubles have been allocated to prepare for the upcoming winter season, of which 2.5 billion are to be used to maintain the heat supply system.
“The regional budget has allocated 250 million roubles for the construction, upgrading and reconstruction of the boiler houses and heat supply systems. It will allow us to replace and thoroughly repair 156 km of the heating mains,” Governor Veniamin Kondratiev said.
The works are being performed in the framework of the regional plan providing for annual replacement of 5% of the heat supply systems. By now, 1,076 boiler houses (or nearly 38% of their total number) and about 40% of the heat supplies have been reported ready for the winter.
“Besides, we have carried out an audit of the emergency standby. We have stockpiled the supplies of mobile power stations – there are 1,620 independent power sources which are fully prepared to work in the autumn and winter period,” Mr. Kondratiev stressed.
