Krasnodar, 15 July. Last week, the situation at the waste recycling site in Belorechensk rayon was once again inspected – this time by the regional Minister of Fuel and Energy Complex and Housing and Utilities Sector Aleksandr Trembitsky, deputy of the regional Legislative Assembly Andrei Buldin, and coordinator of the Ecological Watch in North Caucasus Andrei Rudomakha.
Upon checking the technological cycles, the inspectors noted that the work of the landfill site had improved. Since the beginning of the year, waste sorting was improved, new equipment and special vehicles were purchased, and control over waste transhipment was strengthened. The press service of the regional administration stated that local residents and activists also noted the improvements. Mr. Trembitsky reminded that the authorities are looking for the investors to be involved in the construction of the waste sorting and composting facility in Sochi. “It will help decrease the volumes of solid household wastes disposed of at the Belorechensk landfill,” he said.
