Krasnodar, 25 June. Since the beginning of the year, the Kuban famers have received 2.1 billion roubles as government support, Vice Governor Andrei Korobka announced speaking at a meeting dedicated to the 2020 harvesting campaign in the region.
“The cost of such popular activities as the production of open-ground vegetables and mother seed production has been fully covered [by state subsidies]. Submission of documents for the laying out and maintenance of orchards and vineyards, performing a set of technological works on seed farming, and green-box farm subsidies for small and midsize businesses, and agricultural insurance is going on,” he stressed.
Mr. Korobka also emphasised that a peculiar attention should be paid to agricultural insurance to be able to protect the harvest of the following year. In his turn, regional Minister of Agriculture and Processing Industry Fedor Dereka reported that Kuban farmers have insured 72,200 hectares of farm crops with the help of state subsidies.
The total sum of the subsidies coming from the regional budget amounted to 65.2 million roubles. The total insurance liability amounted to 4.7 billion roubles.
