Krasnodar, 7 May. Works on clearing and equipping the tourist routes have reportedly begun in the Caucasus Natural Reserve.
«The work is being performed by the reserve’s state inspectors and task force. The first stage of the preparatory work to the upcoming summer season is to be completed by May 1», – Director of the Caucasus Natural Reserve Sergei Shevelev announced.
The first stage includes inspecting and putting in order the infrastructure and areas below 1,000 m above sea level; the second stage – those up to 1,800 m. All works in the altitudes of 2,000 m and higher are to be carried out in June, after the snow has melted. The works with the nature trails include fencing of dangerous sites, arrangement of safe and convenient passages and descents, and installation of warning signs.
Mr. Shevelev reported that the stocktaking had been completed at Laura Lodge and in the animal enclosure, where new houses for the animals are being built.
«The yew-and-box grove has been upgraded, new stairs, rails and fences have been laid», – he explained.
