Krasnodar, 1 March. Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev has reportedly taken part in a conference dedicated to the results of new housing supply in January and plans for 2020. The conference was chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
In 2019, Krasnodar province was the third biggest new housing supplier among the Russian regions. The total area of newly delivered housing facilities was 4.5 million sq m.
In his turn, Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev was quoted as saying that in order to increase the volume of the housing supply, it is necessary to increase the available purchasing power.
“The average rate on mortgage loans in the region is 9.13%, which is rather high. I request that it be pulled down to 8%. It would help raise the demand for residential facilities. Besides, it is the construction of schools and kindergartens similarly with residential accommodation that can steeply raise the demand in the neighbourhood. We request that agreements should be signed with regions regarding granting subsidies for the period of construction of schools and kindergartens.”
Mr. Khusnullin supported the governor’s proposals and asked the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation to develop them and include into a corresponding program.
