Krasnodar, 18 December – Yug Times. On the eve of New Year and Christmas, a traditional charity action “Present a holiday to a child!” began in Novorossiysk.
Until 27 December, the city dwellers will have a chance to make at least one child’s dream come true. It will be quite easy to do: one should just take off a card from the ‘tree of wishes’ and fulfil the wish written on it.
Kids with limited abilities, children from families exposed to social risks or life hardships, kids from substitute families or belonging to high-risk groups - on behalf of Father Frost they all would be able to get the long-awaited bicycles, skates, fluffy toys, dolls, musical players, electrically operated toy cars, meccano sets, and mobile phones.
The cards were made by Novorossiysk schoolchildren together with their teachers in November. Altogether, they prepared 1,200 cards with a New Year request to Father Frost to make one dream of one of the donatees true. As for the townspeople who had heard of the action, they began to call and ask when they could come and take the cards off the Christmas charity tree. The cards have been posted up in seven malls since 12 December, next to branded students of five colleges working as volunteers.
After a donator takes off a card and buys the present written on it, the present together with the card is given to the volunteer to be handed over to the author of the wish. The present will be given by social services together with Father Frost by 31 December.
