Krasnodar, 13 August – Yug Times. The regional Ministry of Agriculture has reportedly begun to accept applications for subsidies to cover land-improvement activities.
Three hundred and forty million roubles have been allocated from the federal and regional budgets for this purpose. The support will be granted in the context of the national project, “International cooperation and export.” “The farmers may spend the money for the restoration and development of their reclamation complex and expansion of the irrigated areas. It will allow them to increase the output of such export-oriented agricultural products as soya, maize and vegetables,” the Ministry’s release stated.
The plan for bringing new irrigated fields into service for this year is 4,500 hectares. By 2024, no less than 15,000 hectares of reclaimed areas are to be put into operation. According to the aims of the national project, Krasnodar province has to augment the export of agricultural products to USD 3.8 billion by 2024.
The list of goods with high export potential includes crops, fat-and-oil products, flour and cereals, and starch products.
