Krasnodar, 28 May – Yug Times. During his recent visit to Krasnodar province, Karl Welker, Chairman of the German Union of Mechanical Engineers, reportedly had a meeting with Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev.
Speaking to his German counterpart, Mr. Kondratiev was quoted as saying that Germany is one of the main European partners of the region. Last year, the commodity circulation amounted to USD 300 million.
“It’s industrial development, in particular machine building, that we are counting on primarily,” he said. “The industry accounts for more than 20% of the entire industrial output in the region. We have taken a major step toward the restoration of the Sedin Factory and return of machine-tool manufacture to the national market.”
The Kuban region offers a number of support programs for the business circles, international companies included. A number of industrial parks are being built; their residents may also reckon on tax privileges.
