Krasnodar, 4 May – Yug Times. During the first quarter of 2019, banks issued 114,000 new credit cards in Krasnodar region, or by 30.1% more than in the same period last year (86,600 cards). On this indicator, the region ranks third nationwide after Moscow City (177,800) and Moscow region (144,200), where the number also grew (by 30.7% and 36%, correspondingly). These data were recently announced by the National Credit Reporting Agency based on the information transmitted by 4,200 creditors.
On the whole, Russians tend to actively avail themselves of such banking tool as credit cards: the total number of such cards issued in January – March 2019 was 2.77 million, compared to 2.27 million for the same period last year (a 21.8% growth). The list of Russian regions with the biggest number of issued credit cards also includes St. Petersburg (94,100), Bashkortostan (82,600) and Sverdlovsk region (81,200). The least number of such cards were issued in Belgorod region (26,100), Udmurtia (29,000) and Leningrad region (31,000).
