Krasnodar, 26 March – Yug Times. The results of the work in 2018 and tasks for 2019 were discussed at an enlarged session of the regional Ministries of Finance and Economy held last week in Krasnodar.
The session was chaired by Vice Governor Igor Galas who noted the stable economic position of the Kuban region. The result of the regional industrial sector – 102.4% compared with 2017 – was higher than the national average figure. It was reportedly achieved thankful to major investment projects and governmental support rendered by the regional Industry Development Foundation.
The list of the sectors that showed positive results included wholesale and retail trade, public catering, tourism, and storage and transportation services. On the whole, the Kuban economy has been ranked as the sixth top among the nation’s biggest regional economies, whose gross regional product continued to grow (101.9%).
According to Mr. Galas, takehome wages in 2018 grew fastest over the past six years – 106.9%. The nominal pay growth was 9.5% and equalled to 33,600 roubles. First Deputy Minister of Economy Igor Krasavin added that this year the GRP growth should be at least 1.7%, and the total investment volume in the regional economy is to reach 540 billion roubles.
