Krasnodar, 13 March – Yug Times. Krasnodar City Mayor Yevgeni Pervyshov has reportedly backed the initiative to transfer the responsibility for the maintenance of garbage container areas to regional operators.
The proposal to legalise the responsibility of regional operators for furnishing and maintenance of garbage container areas was sounded at a session of the governmental Commission responsible for citizens’ complaints held last week. Ministry of Natural Resources supported this idea, and Krasnodar City authorities also boosted the plans to transfer the garbage container areas to regional operators. According to the regional Minister of Fuel and Energy Complex and Housing and Communal Services Yevgeni Zimenko, municipalities lack the money required to solve this issue.
In his turn, Krasnodar Mayor Yevgeni Pervyshov called it a logical idea. He stated that garbage collection and disposal, and all concomitant works must become the responsibility of a regional operator – within the framework of tariffs and accumulation standards.
