Krasnodar, 13 February – Yug Times. The production of sea delicacies has reportedly doubled in the Krasnodar region.
There are seven major companies located in Sochi, Anapa, Gelendzhik and the Tuapse district, and several small businesses engaged in this activity.
Vice Governor Andrei Korobka announced that the total output of sea farming in the Krasnodar region exceeded 160 tons last year. “Just to compare - the figure for 2017 was 74 tons,” he stated. “We see good prospects for the development of sea farming. Due to a significant market capacity, the grown products are easily sold out. [The main target audience is] the growing number of holidaymakers who show strong demand for these products.”
Mr. Korobka added that presently mussels and oysters are grown in 36 piscicultural farms of the total area of 5,700 hectares.
