Krasnodar, 6 February – Yug Times. Investigation of crimes committed in taxation sphere is the exclusive prerogative and a priority activity of the Investigative Committee.
In 2018, the Krasnodar Regional Office of the Investigative Committee dealt with 230 reports of tax crimes. The preliminary inquiries resulted in initiation of 120 criminal proceedings. The total sum of damages taken into court exceeded 1.7 billion roubles, of which 536 million were reimbursed. Twelve cases were closed due to full repayment of the debt. These were cases examined by the Investigative Offices in Lazarevskoe, Timashevsk, Kropotkin, and Central district of Krasnodar.
It is worth noting that the aim of a criminal action for economic crimes is to restore justice and make up the damages in the form of repayment of the money that had to be transferred into budget.
One criminal case was dismissed in Krasnodar due to full repayment of the debt. The top managers of Market Ltd., abusing the simplified taxation system, had ‘split up’ its income and thereby evaded more than 23 million roubles in taxes. After the investigation, the director recovered this sum and paid the penalty and additionally credited income tax. In Lazarevskoe, Director of Shapsug Tea CJSC had submitted declarations of the land tax with understated basis for calculation of the land tax. Because of the investigation, the debts were paid together with the penalty, to the total amount of more than 7 million roubles.
