Krasnodar, 17 January – Yug Times. On January 13, the Day of Russian Press, The Yug Times tried to lift the veil of mystery from TV screens. Our today’s interviewee is Aleksandr Palazov, Director of Kuban 24 TV channel.
Q.: What were the main transformations that took place at the TV channel last year under your leadership?
A.: We launched several new projects, renewed the newsroom of our main information program, The Facts – but I believe that our main changes are still in the offing.
Q.: What helps your colleagues to work as a team?
A.: As elsewhere, people should respect and – what is most important – understand each other. Only then their work may be a success. All my people know that they work for a single team called Kuban 24, and they all have a role in making our spectators see what they see on their screens.
Q.: Who do you stake on most of all – young colleagues or experienced professionals? Is it difficult to join your team?
A.: Age is not of primary importance for us – the main thing is the wish to work and to make good and highquality TV programs. Work at a TV channel is not easy – it’s irregular working hours, constant trips, work on weekends and holidays. First of all, our colleagues must be literate, they must know to write and to talk. Then, they must be creative, interesting and up-to-date. Presently, our team consists mainly of young professionals.
Q.: What makes the basis for the information policy of the channel?
A.: The information policy of the channel is formed on the basis of public demands and requirements. The Krasnodar region is an agricultural region – that was why we launched the program The Agricultural Land last year. It recounts the latest agricultural trends - and it has already become very popular. Another project is called I Work for Myself. It’s about people working in small and midsize businesses. On weekdays, our channel remains a source of information, filled of projects about the life and history of the Krasnodar region.
