Krasnodar, 15 January – Yug Times. Together with the regional Investigation Department of the Russian Investigating Committee, The Yug Times is presenting a quite unexpected selection of examples of bribe-taking from the last days of 2018.
Sociologists assert that everyday corruption in the Kuban region is reducing, but bribe-taking by public officials remain ‘in fashion’. The most corrupted spheres of public administration are property and land relations and privatisation of state assets, narrowly followed by natural resources, transport and road facilities, housing and communal services, and public health. Besides, ‘petty’ officials with some special legal status may be also demanding bribes. Say, in Apsheronsk, an ex-forester of the Khadyzhensk Forestry is suspected of gross bribetaking.
In Tikhoretsk, a deputy head of a rural settlement was accused of a bribe just before the New Year. In Krymsk, a deputy police chief and an investigation officer will be sued on a charge of promising and offering of mediation in gross bribe-taking. In Krasnodar, ex deputy Minister of natural Resources will be sued on a charge of gross fraud and attempted fraud.
