Krasnodar, 9 January – Yug Times. Fight with illegal sale of alcohol beverages continues in the Krasnodar region.
It is better not to consume doubtful alcohol to be sure not to get poisoned. All alcohol drinks must be bought only at approved and specialised shops. It seems not hard to observe these simple rules - but the produce of shadow traffickers continues to find their buyers. That means that the police still has much to deal with. Sergei Konovalov, Chief of the Department for fight with crimes in agricultural sector, forestry, bioresources, consumer market and intellectual property if the Directorate of Economic Security and Counteraction to Corruption of the regional police:
“The governing body of the regional police are constantly working on detection and suppression of illicit manufacture and turnover of ethyl alcohol, alcohol products and counterfeit excise stamps and federal special stamps.”
Q.: How much counterfeit alcohol has been revealed so far?
A.: We have withdrawn over a million litres of alcohol from illicit turnover. These were products without documents, or with counterfeit federal special stamps, or homemade products. All such products were acknowledged counterfeit, because they may be dangerous for the consumers’ lives and health.
Q.: What kind of beverages are falsified most often - cheap or expensive beverages?
A.: First of all, it is domestic vodka and sparkling wine, and expensive imported cognac.
