Krasnodar, 26 December – Yug Times. The progress of the federal program Smart City was reportedly discussed last week in Moscow at a conference presided by Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Andrei Chibis. The participants of the conference stated that currently the main task is to approve the regional constituents of the project.
“All regional certificates must be ready by next January,” Mr. Chibis stated. “We have a historic chance at least to get on a par with the key leaders, or - better - to take a step forward.”
In his speech delivered at the conference, Kuban Vice Governor Anatoli Voronovsky said that the federal Ministry of Construction is currently working on a standard that will define the criteria for ‘smart’ cities: “The list of more than forty pilot areas has been determined. The Krasnodar region will be represented by three cities - Krasnodar, Sochi and Novorossiysk.”
Mr. Voronovsky also made it clear that the wide introduction of advanced technologies and materials into the urban and communal infrastructure and construction activities, and the use of state-ofthe-art architectural solutions, and digitalization of municipal services is an essential condition of the project.
