Krasnodar, 14 November – Yug Times. The share of the light industry in the total volume of industrial production in the Krasnodar region will grow to reach 5% in the nearest several years, an industry conference stated.

The conference held last week in Krasnodar was attended by governmental executives and representatives of manufacturing companies and retail chains.

In his speech, vice governor Vasili Shvets noted that the light industry is one of the main economic growth drivers, and that the industry may shortly significantly increase its share in the gross regional product.

“Researches show that presently Russia doesn’t have a single centre for the light industry, but I am confident that Kuban has all chances to become number one nationwide in this segment,” he said.

Expansion of the sales market, especially through retail chains, should become one of the main development factors for the region’s light industry.
