Krasnodar, 13 November – Yug Times. The 15th Forum of international cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan became the main event of the previous week.

The plenary session of the Forum was headed by Presidents Vladimir Putin and Nursultan Nazarbaev. In his speech, Mr. Putin noted that Russia’s long-term efficient cooperation with Kazakhstan is based on constantly developing inter-regional relations. “Altogether, 76 Russian regions have established contacts with 14 Kazakhstani regions and their administrative centres,” he said.

Kuban governor Veniamin Kondratiev also took part in the Forum. He was quoted as saying that the tourist industry is one of the economic drivers for the Krasnodar region. Tax revenues from the resort and tourist sphere are constantly growing. If back in 2013, the amount of tax payments in the regional budget equaled to 4.3 billion roubles, in 2017 the sum rose to reach 7.1 billion.

For eight months of this year, nearly 5 billion [roubles] were transferred to the [regional] budget,” Mr. Kondratiev stressed. “It was by 14% more than over the same period of the last year.”

During the Forum, Mr. Kondratiev had a meeting with Minister of Economic Development Maksim Oreshkin to discuss the development of the Black Sea tourist cluster.
