Krasnodar, 17 October – Yug Times. On October 12, Kuban Cossack Host Ataman Nikolai Doluda delivered a traditional annual report. This time, the report was delivered a month earlier than usual, because at the end of November there will be the Great Cossack Assembly held in Moscow, where the All-Russia Registered Cossack Host is to be established. In his speech, Ataman Doluda thanked all atamans and Cossacks for their efforts made to the development of the Kuban Cossack Host.
The Host has taken part in a great many activities. As an example, it is worth noting its role in maintaining public order during the World Cup: 627 Cossacks took part in it. One of the items of the agenda of the gathering was choosing the delegates for the Great Cossack Assembly, and discussion of the situation around the would-be All-Russia Registered Cossack Host.
“We will submit this issue for the consideration of the workgroup of the State Duma’s Committee for Nationalities,” Mr. Doluda said. “Besides, we are now approaching the final adoption of the federal law ‘On development of Russian Cossacks’. I believe that very soon it will be submitted for the consideration of the State Duma.” These words were met with loud applause from the attendees of the gathering. The list of achievements of the Kuban Cossack Host included the success of the Yeisk Cossack Military School. This year, it headed the list of the best Cossack schools in Russia in the competition of Cossack schools held since 2009.
State service is the most important strategic direction of the work of the Cossack Hosts. Together with the police, Cossacks patrol streets and maintain public order in the cities and villages of the Kuban region. The delegates unanimously approved the report and the work of the Ataman and the Board of the Kuban Cossack Host. They also chose the delegates to go to Moscow to the Great Cossack Assembly.
