Krasnodar, 16 October – Yug Times. The Kuban rescuers have reviewed the results of the bathing season and they are in full alert, prepared to face the autumn and winter period.

The statistics is depressing: 212 persons, including 8 children, have drowned at the seaside since the beginning of the year. June and July were the most menacing months: then the water took 95 human lives. At the same time, the dynamics looks positive if compared with 2017: the number of drowned victims reduced by 7% in total, and that of drowned children fell by 55%.

However, the end of the bathing season does not mean that the rescuers may relax. If there would be a hard freeze in winter, the rivers would be covered with ice crust, and children and fishermen would be making their way to the water. In 2018, January and February were warm, and there was no ice on the rivers. But even on a couple of frosty days there was one drowned victim in the Krasnodar region.
