Krasnodar, 2 October – Yug Times. Last week, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia visited several cities of the Krasnodar region. His visit was of an enlightening nature. During the visit, Kirill noted the big work on the restoration and construction of temples and the increase in the number of parishioners in the region.
In Krasnodar, Patriarch held the Divine Liturgy in honour of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Over 5,000 believers gathered at St. Nicholas’ Cathedral for the service.
Patriarch’s program in the Kuban region was very eventful, In particular, he took part in the foundation stone-laying ceremony of Saints Cyril and Methodius’s Temple in Krasnodar, next to the main building of the Kuban State University. Kirill noted the historic significance o this event and reminded that Saints Cyril and Methodius had visited Kuban and Crimea as one of their enlightening errands.
“I hope that the temple will be erecred in two years, when we will be celebrating the hundredth anniversary of the University,” Mr. Astapov said.
